Hello, my name is Rishabh Prakash, and I am a senior at Burlington High School. The main reason I joined the Help Desk is because I have a strong interest in computer science and technology, and the Help Desk will provide me with exposure to different technological concepts and gadgets, such as drones, Arduinos, Raspberry Pi computers, robots, and many other things that interest me.

The past week (December 3 - 7) was Computer Science Education Week, so the HelpDesk was pretty hectic, with many classes coming in and seeing the things we have been doing in HelpDesk, such as Swift Playgrounds, Circuit Playgrounds, Virtual Reality, etc. A lot of companies also came in during the week (such as a couple of Apple employees) so both me and the students were able to talk to them. For me personally, CS Ed Week revolved around presenting the work I have been doing in XCode in Swift. Over Thanksgiving Break, I purchased a MacBook Pro, and once of the first things I started doing was learning iOS App Development, since it is something I have always been very interested in, but have never had the chance to do since I didn't have a Mac (until now of course). I quickly downloaded XCode (Apple's IDE) and watched some basic YouTube Tutorials on learning Swift (the language developers use to create apps. Since I have taken some Computer Science and coding classes, and am familiar with Java and C++, Swift looked pretty similar, and I was able to get the basics down pretty quickly.
